Somebody start.
Dale to the beach
cargo pants on sale
Coriolanus awaits.
Nighttime thoughts–waves crash–
The naked moon appears, a question.
Suddenly frozen
My mind glistens on branches
A wren shakes off flakes.
Come on, you baby Bashos out there, get with it. This is fun.
Happily preening – aware of nothing.
Dawn breaks.
A somewhat wet frost
on our feet–too early to
walk about like this.
Bashful Bashos, rather.
I don’t know how subtle I can be, here. You taciturn bards compel me to offer Arguements. Yes, my second stanza contains the “Love” reference.
So according to the rules, the next couplet needs to address Love also. A coupling couplet, as it were.
MF asked me why “Love” can’t be spiritual, why necessarily a “coupling couplet.” I am using “Love” in the Lylesian sense, of course:

and, therefore, forever linked with, if not equated with, the “sensual.”
Lyles will no doubt retort that it just makes it a concupiscent couplet.
Poor “Love” is getting left in the lurch. Quick, someone write a couplet and reclaim it.
